CONGRATULATIONS to Alloa Bowling Club on their win on Saturday in the Balfour Final! Menstrie started badly and could not recover, losing by 11 shots. Thanks to everyone who came down to Sauchie to support us.
The next County Competition is the Top Ten. Menstrie got a BYE in the First round and visit Alva South on Monday 9th August for the Second round game.
PLEASE NOTE that due to unforeseen circumstances the Bar will be closed this Thursday 5th and Friday 6th August. We will update further opening times later in the week.

The Alex Morton Trophy was contested as a one day competition yesterday, Saturday 24th July. 14 Bowlers took to the Green on a very hot day.
Semi-Finals were, A.Wilson, C.Donaldson, J.Allan, C.Drummond.
Arthur and James coming through to the Final. James won their game in the Group stages but Arthur turned that round to win the Trophy. A great days Bowling was had by all. CONGRATULATIONS ARTHUR!!

Balfour Trophy – Menstrie won the semi-final against Sauchie taking an early lead and held on to it for the duration of the game finally winning by 10 shots. The Balfour Trophy Final will be on Saturday 31st July against Alloa Bowling Club. Venue – Sauchie 2.30pm start.
Committee News
Ally Collier has had to stand down as Secretary due to work commitments. We would like to thank him for his hard work over the years and wish him well for the future. Meantime the Committee will share the duties.
Due to the Balfour Trophy being played on the 31st July the Polmaise game has been re-scheduled and will now be played on August 28th. A new sheet will be posted.

Family Fun Monday’s part of Dumyat Summer of Wellness has been a great success to date, we also had a group of young teens come down between 5 and 6. If you have some spare time why not pop along and help out. (Monday’s 4pm)
The Ties continue well with the Quarter Finals of the Singles being played soon. It looks like there will be some good games to come so why not come along, have a light refreshment and watch the games.

BALFOUR TROPHY
Menstrie won their second Round Game against Orwell on Thursday evening. It was another hard fought game where Menstrie took the lead in the last few ends and held on for an 8 shot win. We are awaiting Semi-Final opponents and venue for next Thursdays game (21st July). Well done Gents!
Saturday 17th July – The minibus leaves the Club at 2pm for Saturday’s friendly at Cambus (cost £3 per head)

Dumyat Centre Summer of Wellbeing
We had a mix of 20 adults and children turn up on Monday for the Dumyat centre’s Try Bowls session for children and adults and everyone appeared to enjoy the hour session. Thanks to all the members who came along to help. Next week’s session is Monday and starts at 4pm.
