The Committee and Members of Menstrie Bowling Club would like to offer their Condolences to the family and friends of Stan Paterson, his death was sudden and a complete shock to everyone who knew him.
Stan was a former Chairman of Menstrie Community Council and continued as a hard working member after stepping down.
He was involved in many projects, the Community Garden, the Christmas lights, food parcel deliveries to name but a few. Stan always had a smile and a chat for anyone he passed, he made Menstrie a better place to live and was a true Gentleman!
WE HOPE THAT EVERYONE IS WELL AND GETTING ON WITH DAILY LIFE WITH AS MUCH EASE AS COVID19 ALLOWS!
THE NEW BUILDING WAS ERECTED IN EARLY JANUARY AND WE ARE CURRENTLYFITTING OUT THE INSIDE, INSTALLING INSULATION / PLASTERBOARD, ELECTRICS, LIGHTING ETC. WE SHOULD HAVE THE WORK COMPLETED AND READY TO GO IN TIME FOR THE START OF THE SEASON!
JIM HOLDEN HAS COMPLETED LAST YEAR’S BALANCE SHEET AND WE ARE IN A GOOD POSITION FINANCIALLY THANKS TO GRANTS WE HAVE RECEIVED OVER THE LAST TWELVE MONTHS.
THIS WILL BE JIM’S LAST ACT AS AUDITOR. HE HAS SERVED AS TREASURER AND AUDITOR FOR MANY YEARS AND WE WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND OUR THANKS TO JIM FOR KEEPING THE CLUB ON A STRAIGHT AND HEALTHY FINANCIAL PATH AND SEND WARMEST WISHES TO JIM AND MONICA FROM THE MEMBERS OF MENSTRIE BOWLING CLUB!
JOHN McQUADE IS TAKING OVER AS AUDITOR AND WE ARE CURRENTLY UNDERGOING A SMOOTH TRANSITION.
WE ARE IN LIMBO WITH REGARDS TO THE AGM. THE COMMITTEE WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR GOVERNMENT ADVICE AND UPDATE WHEN WE ARE IN A POSITION TO DO SO.
It looks highly unlikely that we will be open again this year and as a result we have Beer/Lager that will go out of date before then. We’ve given this some thought and in an attempt to try and empty the cellar we have purchased a number of 4 Pint Plastic containers!
Ashley will be in the Bowling Clubon Thursday 5th November from 5pm to 6pm to fill the plastic containers and we will be charging £10 per 4pint container.
We will try this again over the weekend if there is interest so feedback/comments are most welcome!
