Balfour Trophy – Menstrie won the semi-final against Sauchie taking an early lead and held on to it for the duration of the game finally winning by 10 shots. The Balfour Trophy Final will be on Saturday 31st July against Alloa Bowling Club. Venue – Sauchie 2.30pm start.
Ally Collier has had to stand down as Secretary due to work commitments. We would like to thank him for his hard work over the years and wish him well for the future. Meantime the Committee will share the duties.
Due to the Balfour Trophy being played on the 31st July the Polmaise game has been re-scheduled and will now be played on August 28th. A new sheet will be posted.

Family Fun Monday’s part of Dumyat Summer of Wellnesshas been a great success to date, we also had a group of young teens come down between 5 and 6. If you have some spare time why not pop along and help out. (Monday’s 4pm)
The Ties continue well with the Quarter Finals of the Singles being played soon. It looks like there will be some good games to come so why not come along, have a light refreshment and watch the games.
Menstrie won their second Round Game against Orwell on Thursday evening. It was another hard fought game where Menstrie took the lead in the last few ends and held on for an 8 shot win. We are awaiting Semi-Final opponents and venue for next Thursdays game (21st July).Well done Gents!

Dumyat CentreSummer of Wellbeing
We had a mix of 20 adults and childrenturn up on Monday for the Dumyat centre’sTry Bowls session for children and adultsand everyone appeared to enjoy the hour session. Thanks to all the members who came along to help. Next week’s session is Monday and starts at 4pm.
Menstrie won their First Round Balfour Tie against Clackmannan at Alloa East End on Thursday 8th July. A great performance from The Team.

Dumyat centre’s “Summer of Well-being” Family Bowls
Ian Donaldson, Matt Camley and Rab Scott have been replacing the Sprinkler heads, Programmer and Valves in the Greenkeeper’s shed. All being well we can get a better watering regime in place and get the Green back into Top Condition. Thanks for all your hard work guys!

Menstrie Bowling Club would like to thank Oliver for playing the pipes at short notice, for those who were in the Clubhouse to watch the Scotland v England game. Oliver enjoyed the experience and would like to thank everyone for the £40+ collected!
The Club played their First Friendly this year away to ALLOA on Saturday 12th June. An enjoyable day was had by all with Menstrie winning on the day by 49 – 44 Many thanks to ALLOA Bowling Club for a great day!

There are a few First Round Ties outstanding. The dates have been extended to Wednesday 23rd June and a decision will be made at the the Committee Meeting later that evening on outstanding ties. Please use this extension to get Ties played, if not possible please speak to a Committee Member to explain the reason why.

Thanksto those who came along to watch the Scotland Game on Monday and although it was a disappointing result we have an opportunity to redeem ourselves tonight at 8pm England v Scotland from Wembley @8pm (BBC programme starts at 7pm). The Bar will be open from 3pm until 10pm so why not come along and have a few drinks and watch the game . The Bar will be Open 4pm – 10pm on Saturday as there are no Games on.
