READY, STEADY, SATURDAY 1st MAY OPENING DAY 2pm for 2.30pm

Despite the wind and rain the Beer Garden opened as planned on Monday, the first time since October 2020. It was well supported even if the weather couldnโ€™t have been more different to the previous weekend!

By Tuesday the winds had picked up and thankfully there were a few hardy souls who were playing Bowls in the afternoon and rescued the tent as it was preparing to take off. Thanks guys! We plan to get more rope and fixings attached to the tent in time for Opening Day on Saturday.

Opening Day – Saturday 1st May 2021 2pm for a 2.30pm start. There is a one-way system inside the Clubhouse and Masks must be worn at all times when indoors.

Membership Subscriptions As previously announced the Subscription for this season is ยฃ10 for all categories of Membership and this can be paid on Saturday.

The Weather forecast for Saturday looks promising, Preparations are almost complete and we are looking forward to seeing all Members, old and new.

Stay safe ๐Ÿ™

PLANS FOR THE RE-OPENING OF THE 2021 SEASON.

We will continue to follow the Guidelines set down by the Scottish Government and Bowls Scotland.

The Green will reopen for General Play on Tuesday 15th April 2021. At present there can be no more than 15 players allowed on the Green at any one time so the set up will be the same as last year, Rink booking, Hand sanitising, Mat & Jack cleaning.

We continue to wait for Bowls Scotland updates.

The plan is to open the Beer Garden on Monday evening of the 26th April โ€˜21 and thanks to the generosity of Menstrie Community Council for their donation of a couple of tents, we will have a tent in place for the Summer season.

Monday 26th April – Bar Opens. Tuesday 27th & Wednesday 28th April – Closed. Thursday 29th & Friday 30th April – Bar open.

We plan to hold our Opening Day (of sorts!) on Saturday 1st May โ€˜21 and depending on Bowls Scotland guidelines it may be a case of playing in 2 sessions!

With regards to the season, the SBA have cancelled all Scottish ties and I would imagine that the County will follow suit. Whether or not Friendlies will be allowed we will have to wait and see.

Next update coming soon, until then Stay Safe!

Bit of an UPDATE!

The Committee are currently waiting for Government Guidance before an AGM can be organised and the likelihood is that this could be as late as May/June. We will continue to run the Club until such time.

We have made a decision regarding 2021 fees and would like to thank everyone for their support during the last year. We realise that the Season was curtailed and the Club closed for long periods of time and so the plan for this year is to charge just ยฃ10 per person for ALL MEMBERS, Bowling and Social. Further information will follow regarding payment of fees!

In order to attract newcomers to Bowling we will also be charging ยฃ10 membership fees to encourage new Members.

We are continuing to prepare for the New Season and hope to see everyone soon! In the meantime,

Take Care & Stay Safe!
