Dumyat centre’s “Summer of Well-being” Family Bowls

Our Family Bowls afternoon was cancelled on Monday due to the wet weather and was rearranged for today, Friday 9th July 5pm-6pm. It will then return to Mondays for the remainder of the school summer holidays. We welcomed Polmaise Bowling Club to Menstrie on Saturday 26th June. An excellent turnout of 6 Triples enjoyed a great afternoon Bowling. Polmaise ran out worthy winners 110-81

Saturday 3rd July we have 4 Triples visiting Clackmannan Bowling Club. Transport leaves Menstrie at 13.45.

Ian Donaldson, Matt Camley and Rab Scott have been replacing the Sprinkler heads, Programmer and Valves in the Greenkeeper’s shed. All being well we can get a better watering regime in place and get the Green back into Top Condition. Thanks for all your hard work guys!

Menstrie Bowling Club would like to thank Oliver for playing the pipes at short notice, for those who were in the Clubhouse to watch the Scotland v England game. Oliver enjoyed the experience and would like to thank everyone for the £40+ collected!

The Club played their First Friendly this year away to ALLOA on Saturday 12th June. An enjoyable day was had by all with Menstrie winning on the day by 49 – 44 Many thanks to ALLOA Bowling Club for a great day!

There are a few First Round Ties outstanding. The dates have been extended to Wednesday 23rd June and a decision will be made at the the Committee Meeting later that evening on outstanding ties. Please use this extension to get Ties played, if not possible please speak to a Committee Member to explain the reason why.

BALFOUR TROPHY

The defence of The Balfour Trophy will begin with a difficult First Round game against CLACKMANNAN on Thursday 8th July at Patons Bowling Club.

Thanks to those who came along to watch the Scotland Game on Monday and although it was a disappointing result we have an opportunity to redeem ourselves tonight at 8pm England v Scotland from Wembley @8pm (BBC programme starts at 7pm). The Bar will be open from 3pm until 10pm so why not come along and have a few drinks and watch the game . The Bar will be Open 4pm – 10pm on Saturday as there are no Games on.

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen!

A 75” television has been installed ready for the EURO’s and the Bar will be open from 1pm ‘TIL 6pm for SCOTLAND’S Opening Game on Monday 13th June.

On Friday 18th June the Bar will open from 3pm ‘TIL 10pm. Why not come down and watch the SCOTLAND V ENGLAND Game on the Big Screen and have a few drinks!

SATURDAY 12th June is the Club’s first friendly away to ALLOA Bowling Club. Transport leaves the club at 13.30pm.

CONGRATULATIONS to Robert Fair and Aidan Halley on qualifying for the Novice Cup Final which will be played on ‘FINALS WEEKEND’ on the 18th/19th September 2021 WELL DONE GUYS!

BIG SCREEN TV on it’s way!

We expect to be taking delivery of a 75”tv in time for EURO 2020 and all being well this will be in place for SCOTLAND’s Opening Game on Monday 14th June at 2pm. The plan will be to open the bar from 1pm.
